“The Geography of Civil Rights Movements”

We are excited to announce the 2017 PA Alliance Geography Awareness Week Postcard Contest! This contest is open to all students in grades K-12. The 2017 Geography Awareness Week theme is “The Geography of Civil Rights Movements,” and encourages teachers and students to explore the issues surrounding civil rights movements around the world. This theme can center on past civil rights movements or current issues people are facing globally and domestically. Be creative! We look forward to seeing how your students learn to understand the needs and struggles of people around the world. For teacher resources related to this theme visit “The Geography of Civil Rights Movements” page, hosted by the Kansas Geographic Alliance.
